kit comprises:
Media Presentation on VHS Video. "It was 1924." The Roaring
Twenties. Here is a lively exploration of the styles, the fads and fun,
the sports heroes, the booze and business, the entertainment and the home
life of 1924. (16 minutes)
CD in Binder with Guide. Sing-along songs: "Ain't We Got Fun?";
"In My Merry
Oldsmobile"; "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue"; and "Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge."
Then the Charleston for setting a mood or dancing.
25 Booklets. The Jazz Age in large print features three sing-along
songs, two poems, prices to reflect the cost of living, and a dictionary
of jazz age slang, like flapper, hooch, lounge lizard, sheik...
Song Master. Make as many copies as you want of the campaign song
"Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge."
Jokes. Two sets of large-print jokes (on card stock) about the
President, Prohibition, and those new Fords.
Activity. A set of five laminated copies of a crossword puzzle from the first
crossword puzzle book (published in 1924). Complete with clues, the solution
and five non-permanent markers.
Things to Touch. Scented stickers on cards to bring back memories
of first cars and speak-easies: ten each of gasoline and martini; a yo-yo,
a fad from the twenties still around today; four mah jongg tiles, an ancient
Chinese game that swept the country in the 20s; and stockings, one cotton
and one silky.
Manual. Includes helpful hints, a resource list, and ideas for
